Model History and Information: The Cat® M318F is a wheeled hydraulic excavator from Caterpillar's F Series, the generation that preceded the current M318. Like other Cat wheel excavators, it pairs rubber-tired road mobility with the digging and lifting performance of a tracked machine, work suited to urban construction, utility, and roadside jobs where equipment travels frequently between nearby sites. Caterpillar has continued to update this wheel excavator line since the F Series, most recently with the current M318 generation. This 1:50 scale Core Classics model reproduces the F Series chassis and cab, distinct from the 1:87 High Line M318D and the newer 1:50 High Line M318 also in the range.
