Caterpillar documentation describes it as a 13-metric-ton vibratory compactor with 2,000 mm (79 in) drums, a Cat C4.4 engine with ACERT Technology rated at 142 hp. Caterpillar lists an Eco-mode for fuel efficiency, a water spray system and available Cat Compaction Control with temperature and pass-count mapping. Road rollers of this kind compact soil, gravel, concrete or asphalt during the construction of roads and foundations.
